Tamro Group

Tamro Group is the leading pharmaceutical wholesaler in Northern Europe, with 20 distribution centres in eight countries (Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland). We are also actively involved in pharmacy operations in five countries (Norway, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia and Poland). In addition, we operate in pharmaceutical wholesaling in Russia through a minority stake.

In the Nordic countries, Tamro's market share in pharmaceutical wholesaling is roughly 54%. For the financial year 2008/09, we posted net sales of approximately EUR 5.5 billion. Measured in net sales, Tamro Group is Finland's 11th largest company (2009). We employ more than 5,100 staff.

Tamro is a wholly owned subsidiary of PHOENIX group. Although Tamro is a public company, it is not listed on the stock exchange. Tamro Group is headquartered in the Tamro House in Vantaa, Finland.

Tamro's Finnish roots extend back to 1895, when four pharmacists founded a wholesale company called Tampereen Rohdoskauppayhtiö. The history of the Danish subsidiary Nomeco starts in 1801.
